Title: Civilian Casualty Figure; First Seven Months of 2010 (1st January – 31st July)

This report shows number of the civilian casualties in Afghanistan during the first seven months of year 2010, which have been gathered accurately by the regional, provincial and central offices of the AIHRC in Kabul. The report indicates the rise of civilian casualty continuously since 2001 and civilians are the daily victims of the current armed conflict in Afghanistan. This report indicates 5.5% rise in civilian casualty compare to last year (first seven months of 2009) that Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission and other Human rights bodies are concerned of. In the first seven months of year 2009 approximately 1252 civilians were killed during the armed conflict but this figure rise to 1325 in 2010.
