Human Rights Educational Unit Promotion of human rights is one of the fundamental goals of the AIHRC. Thus, increasing public awareness of human rights, especially increasing human rights awareness amongst officials and law enforcement agencies is one of the main activities of Human Rights Education Unit carried out for the achievement of developmental goals of the AIHRC. Since promotion of human rights result in providing of appropriate ground for the observance of human rights, Human Rights Education Unit is considered to be one of the important and key Units of the AIHRC. This Unit can provide guarantees for the observance of human rights norms and principles by conducting training programs such as workshops, seminars, conferences, meetings and radio and television programs and agreements. During past years, Human Rights Education Unit has conducted many training programs for different categories of society in order to promote public awareness of human rights all over the country. Moreover, this section attempts to pave the ground for signing agreement between the Commission and other educational institutions. Today, human rights are taught as a major subject in a number of educational centers. Educational centers that are teaching human rights subject in close coordination with Human Rights Education Unit of the AIHRC are as follows: the universities and teacher training institutions in the country, Oroj training centers, ANA Military Training Center. Also, as a result of the attempt made by the AIHRC human rights subject has been incorporated in the curriculum of the Ministry of Education. Human Rights Education Unit works in close coordination with the Department of Human Rights, Gender and Children Units of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Rural Development and Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs that are newly formed. This Unit can help the said ministries to conduct human rights training programs. Human Rights Education Unit in addition to training activities noted above is working in collaboration with partners of the AIHC compiling training manual in order to promote human rights. A number of these manuals are listed as follows:

3 - Human rights training manual for schools This section cooperates with the Ministry of Education in providing of human rights subjects for the curriculum text books and reviewing of text books from the perspective of human rights and children rights as well as incorporating human rights issues in the new educational system, based on agreement signed between the Ministry of Education and AIHRC.
