Kabul- Jawza 7, 1391 (27 May, 2012)

On Saturday, Hoot 7, 1391 (May 26, 2012), Garda Ser district of Patia province was bombarded by the international forces and resulted in the death of 8 civilians, members of a family-father, mother and six children.

By issuing this press release, the AIHRC expresses its sympathy and condolences to the grieved families of the victims. May God almighty give them the strength and patience to tolerate this unfortunate incident,

According to AIHRC, killing and wounding of civilian is considered to be a clear violation of international laws, and all military attacks on houses in the district or in the cities are condemned in the strongest possible terms. The AIHRC calls on the national and international forces to be extremely cautious during their military operations and respect the people’s right to life and health.

Since in this air attack by the international force carried out on Jawza 6, 1391 (May 26, 2012) in Garda Ser district of Paktia province, national and international humanitarian laws (Geneva Conventions) are clearly violated, the AIHRC is seriously concerned in this regard and calls on the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and international forces to investigate about the incident and hold the perpetrators accountable before the law.
