AIHRC ........................................................................................................................................................ Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission expresses its concerns about women's human rights situation in the country. Kabul, 12, 1390 / February, 1st 2012 The AIHRC considers the arbitrary and deliberate killings of women in Kunduz and Baghlan provinces to be contrary to National Laws, Islamic Principles and human rights standards, and condemns it in the strongest terms. According to the reports received from Kunduz and Baghlan provinces a 22 year old woman named Storai daughter of Md Sarwar Khan, resident of Chahar Tot village of Khanabad district of Kunduz province, was chocked up to death by her husband, Sher Mohamed son of Din Mohammad, a resident of Mahfili village of Khanabad district of the said province on 5 / 11/1390. The murderer fled after crime and joined the armed opposition groups. Parallel to this tragic incident a 26 year old woman named Fatima daughter of Raz Mohammed, resident of Turanai village of central Baghlan district was first chocked up to death and then burned up with boiling hot water on 11/11/1390 by her husband, Baz Mohammad son of Shah Mohammed. The perpetrator is detained in the detention center of Security Police of Baghlan district. In Afghanistan numerous and different kinds of such deliberate and arbitrary actions, especially honor killings have occurred in the country in which the rights of oppressed Afghan women are violated, without any reason, and in a brutal and inhuman way. The AIHRC while strongly condemning this horrific crime calls on the Afghan government and relevant national and international institutions to bring the perpetrators of such crimes to justice.
