Attack on Imami-Zaman Mosque in Kabul City
The AIHRC strongly condemns the attack on the prayers of the Imami-Zaman Mosque, killing 40 people and wounding more than 90 others including women and children. AIHRC expresses its concern about the attacks on holy places.
The attack on holy places (mosques) and prayers is an inhuman and illegal act that is explicitly in conflict with the holy religion of Islam, international humanitarian law, national laws, and international human rights instruments.
AIHRC calls on anti-government armed groups to stop targeting holy places (mosques) and civilians and to comply fully with IHL, and avoid committing more war crimes and crimes against humanity.
AIHRC calls on the Afghan government, justice and law enforcement agencies, especially the country's security forces, to identify and prosecute the perpetrators of the incident as soon as possible and to ensure the security of the citizens of the country.
