The AIHRC has signed an MoU with Ministry of Education on 15 July 2007 for Incorporation of human rights messages in the teaching texts used for grades 7-12. Dr. Sima Samar signed the MoU to support the MoE publication of 1 million text of Pashto and Dari subjects for grade 7-12, which includes a total contribution of USD 400000 to the ministry. the MoE has also agreed to re-print the 5-year Strategy Plan for Education with due consideration of the AIHRC comments and recommendations. The AIHRC based on the MoU, would design the back cover of two linguistic subjects with declaration of human rights messages coming from the Universal declaration of Human Rights, Islamic Declaration of Human Rights, and International conventions to which Afghanistan is party. The MoE is obliged to print the messages with the logo of the AIHRC in the coming 7 months, as promised by Minister Haneef Atmar.
