AIHRC Press Release

The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) seriously condemns the overnight grenade attack on the residential home of one of its Jalalabad Regional Office female staff on 10 November 2005 and regards it as a violation of the principles of Islam, humanity and personal security.

 While such threats and acts of intimidation cannot prevent the AIHRC from implementing its human rights promotion and protection activities, the Commission strongly expects the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to take immediate and effective measures to ensure the security and safely of civil servants and to prosecute the perpetrators of such inhuman and sabotage acts.
