Afghanistan Independent Human
Rights Commission expresses its deep regrets and concerns in regard
to the painful incidents and casualties of innocent civilian
occurred on Saturday in the province of Nangarhar and on Monday in
the province of Kapisa as a result of shooting and bombardment of
Coalition Forces combating Terrorism.
The incidents happen at the time
when the government and people of Afghanistan expect from
international forces to cooperate and assist them in ensuring
security, rule of law and reconstruction of Afghanistan. But,
regretfully, the people of Afghanistan have always been witnessing
civilian casualties in their operations against terrorists,
particularly during last year.
Asking for follow-up and
investigation of the incidents in Jalalabad and Kapisa, the
Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission seriously call on
international and coalition forces in Afghanistan to pay serious
attention to the protection and respect of human rights, life and
properties of innocent civilians during military and security
operation.
Every military operation should
guarantee the protection of lives of innocent civilians. Because
infliction of casualties on civilians is contradictory to the
principals International Humanitarian Laws, human rights principles
and norms. The perpetrators should be prosecuted and brought to
justice.
Expressing its heartfelt
sympathy and condolence to the grieved families of these incidents,
The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission once again calls
upon concern authorities to follow-up these incidents.
